SURC is an ACS regional chemistry conference that has occurred annually for 52 years. As the name implies, the conference is specifically geared toward undergraduate student chemistry research. The recent history of the location of the conference is pasted below. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the conference was canceled for both the years 2021 and 2022. Upon losing momentum, there was not a host lined up for 2023. Belhaven University and Mississippi College, both in the Jackson, MS, metro area, have decided to co-host and resurrect the conference. At the 2020 meeting, there were approximately 130 attendees, 60 undergraduate student posters, and 25 student oral presentations.
